About Our Community Centre

Nestled at the north end of Oak Park at 59th Avenue and Oak Street with views south to the Fraser River, Marpole-Oakridge Community Centre was founded in 1949 and now serves two neighbourhoods of diverse populations and ages. English and Chinese are the predominant languages here, with a wide assortment of programs and services available through the centre. These ongoing programs, special events and workshops feature badminton, yoga, pilates, music, dance, youth room, curriculum and aerobics classes.

The centre’s fitness centre has a weight room, cardio room, racquetball court, whirlpool and sauna. Basketball and hockey sports courts are located just outside the building.

Marpole-Oakridge Community Association (MOCA)

The Marpole-Oakridge Community Centre is jointly operated between the Parks Board of Vancouver and the Marpole-Oakridge Community Association (MOCA).

MOCA Vision and Mission

Our mission is to offer accessible and diverse leisure opportunities to enhance the well-being of individuals and strengthen a sense of community in a safe and welcoming environment.

Joint Operating Agreement (JOA)

The Joint Operating Agreement is intended to define the working partnership between the Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation and each of 20 Community Associations developed to provide recreation and leisure opportunities and to facilitate provision of community services to the residents of each community. On June 19, 2017 the MOCA (Marpole-Oakridge Community Association) Board of Directors signed a 15-year Joint Operating Agreement with the Park Board effective January 2018.

The JOA mandates that the Marpole-Oakridge Community Association make our audited financial statements and our revenue spending plans available for public viewing.
